In December, Isabella County gov’t closed on the $41.5 million United State Dept of Agriculture loan for their new jail/sheriff’s office project. On Tuesday, the county’s commission voted to free up money to pay off a loan taken out to pay for the projects initial costs. A budget was adopted to move $2.6 million for the county’s assigned savings to the jail fund to make sure they can pay it off by a Feb. 1st deadline.
