A Union Township man accused of using a machete to murder a teen girl from Big Rapids, has plead guilty to open murder. 21 year old Joel Patrick Dorlice Travis entered his plea on Monday to the Sept ‘21 death of 16 yr old Alexa Lin Riley, who was murdered at Jamestown Apartments. This leaves open the degree of the crime, which will determine his sentence. A hearing is scheduled for Feb. 27th!
