“Tiger King” zookeeper Erik Cowie has died at 53. “TMZ” reports that Cowie was found dead in NYC on Friday. Law enforcement sources tell the outlet that Cowie was in town visiting a friend at her apartment, where he was later found dead. He was reportedly using alcohol “excessively,” and a big bottle of vodka was found at the scene. He’s gotten into trouble with substances before, admitting to a “one-time drinking problem” on “Tiger King”… and he also pleaded guilty to DUI in Oklahoma after an accident earlier this year, though he never showed up for his sentencing and a warrant was put out for his arrest.
