“I was fired today by after 27 years as a Staff Writer,” Jeffrey Toobin tweeted yesterday afternoon – thus ending his tenure at “The New Yorker” magazine. As we told you, he was in a Zoom meeting when he allegedly touched himself – much to the chagrin of his colleagues who saw him. He thought the camera was off when he decided to take matters into his hands, per se.
Toobin’s termination came three weeks after he was suspended and the magazine launched an investigation into the matter. At the time, he also stepped away from his gig as a legal analyst for CNN. So far, no word on whether he’ll be able to keep that job.
“I will always love the magazine, will miss my colleagues, and will look forward to reading their work,” Toobin added. In addition to writing for “The New Yorker” for more than two decades, he has written nine books and has been CNN’s legal analyst since 2002.
