Simon Cowell is on the mend after a six-hour surgery to repair his broken back. He broke it in a bicycle accident on Saturday. Apparently, he faced paralysis! The injury was reportedly a centimeter from the worst.
The 60-year-old was with his partner Lauren Silverman, their six-year-old son Eric, and her 14-year-old son Adam when he decided to try out an electric bike in the courtyard of their Malibu home. He fell flat on his back, and a source said, “He was in shock and in massive amounts of pain.”
A rep for the “America’s Got Talent” judge said that he was fine after the overnight operation. He must be doing well because he’s tweeting some good advice from his hospital bed. “If you buy an electric trail bike,” he writes. “Read the manual before you ride it for the first time.” He also thanked everyone for their kind messages, and the doctors and nurses, saying they’re “some of the nicest people I have ever met.”
- According to Deadline.com, Cowell will at least miss the first two live shows in the new “America’s Got Talent” season, set to air this coming tomorrow and Wednesday.
