Looks like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is returning to his first love – football! He and his ex-wife and business partner, Dany Garcia, along with Gerry Cardindale’s RedBird Capital just bought the XFL league for $15 million.
Apparently the Vince McMahon league – which was doing well prior to COVID – filed for bankruptcy in April. They would have been auctioned off to the highest bidder yesterday, but The Rock and his partners snatched it up.
The deal –which has to be approved in bankruptcy court – could close by August 21st. After that, the next step will be to relaunch the league.
