Johnny Depp’s heated libel case against “The Sun” is coming to a close. London’s High Court heard closing arguments yesterday, when the tabloid said they had presented “overwhelming evidence” of the actor’s alleged domestic abuse against ex-wife Amber Heard.

The actor got a mouthful from his ex and “The Sun’s” lawyers. Heard called him a “needy man-child” who she had to clean up after when he’d go on benders, as shown in a scathing email she sent to him in 2013 about how much he’s “embarrassed” himself. “A real man doesn’t need to be cared for like a baby,” she reportedly wrote. “I watch as other grown men have to wipe you, basically,”

Lawyers for “The Sun” defended publishing a 2018 article calling the actor a “wife beater,” claiming in court that his alleged violence came from “deep misogyny.” To protect himself, the defense said Depp tried to paint Heard as “the stereotype of a nagging woman.”
