Famed British survivalist Bear Grylls has run through forest fires and wrestled crocs, but it’s a bee sting that had him in critical condition on his latest adventure. The star was filming his upcoming series, “Treasure Island,” when he got stung by a bee and went into “life-threatening” anaphylactic shock.
A local brain surgeon tells Daily Star he couldn’t believe the severity of the survival expert’s allergic reaction. But it makes sense, Grylls discovered he had a bee allergy after a similar incident back in 2008. Grylls tried to continue shooting the show, but soon his condition got so bad that he was almost unrecognizable from the swelling.
But don’t worry, he’s okay. Luckily, medics were able to fight the life-threatening reaction with an EpiPen.
