IONIA COUNTY, MI – A football player at Saranac Jr./Sr. High School has died after collapsing Wednesday, Aug. 28, during a non-contact drill, authorities said.
The student-athlete was flown from the scene by Aero Med helicopter to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Saranac Community Schools will follow protocol and have resources available for students and staff as needed,” Saranac Community Schools said in a Facebook post.
