Will Smith has made his standup debut at Dave Chappelle’s star-studded comedy show at the Peppermint Club in Los Angeles. He joined several other big-named funny folks for what Chappelle called “Comedy ‘Fight Club.’”

Even though attendees didn’t really know what to expect, they had to surrender their mobile devices at the door. Jon StewartMichelle WolfKatt WilliamsMichael Che, and LeBron James graced the stage, with John Mayer providing musical support and the occasional zinger.

Will – who’s about to celebrate his 50thbirthday – said that doing standup was on his bucket list. His set was mostly about life with his wife and kids and their various projects, including Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talks and Jaden’s budding music career. He said that his son –who didn’t want to feature him on his song, “Icon” –“looked at me like I was the second-best rapper in the house.”

Speaking bucket lists, Will said he was filming the experience for a show called “The Bucket List.” Next week, he’ll be bungee jumping from a helicopter over the Grand Canyon.
