A man is dead after he was hit and killed by a vehicle when trying to get a dead deer off the roadway, late Saturday night. It happened in Mecosta County on 30th Avenue, north of Grant Road in Wheatland Township. That’s when they say a Vestaburg woman hit a deer. Her passenger, 85-year-old Norman Erickson from Barryton, got out to move the deer off the road. While trying to move the deer, deputies say a vehicle driven by a Marion woman hit and killed the man. Deputies are still investigating the crash.
