A new Robin Williams biography says he was struggling with Lewy body dementia before his death.
In the book, titled “Robin,” author Dave Itzkos reveals the brain disease is partially to blame for the comedian’s passing because it brought on some of the symptoms that led to him committing suicide. He was initially diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, until a neurologist discovered it was actually dementia.
During filming of “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb,” the actor began to feel the full array of symptoms including forgetting his lines, crying uncontrollably, and having a shuffling walk.
Williams hung himself in August of 2014. He was 63. To find out more about Lewy Body Dementia, visit here.
