BREAKING: Shots fired on CMU’s Campus; Shooter Still At Large

Update: As of 1:00 P.M.

The Morning Sun says the suspect may have shed all of his clothes and may be naked. Police searched with a K-9 Unit near Millpond Park.

According to Central Michigan University: The shooter’s name is James Eric Davis Jr.

The 2 people that were shot and killed were not CMU students and it is believed the shooting as in connection to a domestic situation.

FBI are in Mt. Pleasant.

Sacred Heart students are being released early with police presence.

Officials are looking for a black male with short hair, slight build, wearing yellow-colored jeans, a blue hoodie and a gun pistol tucked in his belt.

Description of Suspect: According to the Morning Sun Officials are looking for a light skinned black male with short hair, 5’9″, approximately 19 years of age, slight build, wearing yellow-colored jeans, a blue hoodie and a gun pistol tucked in his belt.

Earlier today police are reporting that shots were fired near the 4th floor of Campbell Hall on CMU’s Campus.  The Mt. Pleasant Police Department is assisting Central Michigan University PD with the situation. Mt Pleasant Schools have also been reported on lockdown and CMU students are told to stay away from campus. Please remain aware of your surroundings and call 911 to report suspicious activity. All City buildings are currently locked down and not accessible to the general public. More information will be shared as it is received.
