A Houghton Lake accident has taken the life of a woman and her dog. Denton Township police chief says it happened last weekend, after Sheryl Wojcik attempted to run across County Road 100 with her dog. A truck driven by Robert Smith swerved to avoid them, but ended up hitting her. He was arrested for driving on a revoked license causing death. A passenger in his vehicle was also arrested on unrelated charges.
