The Gratiot County  Board of Commissioners has a new leader. Republican Sam Smith of Rainbow Lake, who represents District 4, has been elected Chairman. He’s the owner of Smith Family Funeral Homes, has been a member of the board since December 2015; was elected to the post in 2016, again in ’18, 20 & last year.
