Tom Brady has played in the NFL longer than almost anyone, and has seen it all. The Damar Hamlin incident on “Monday Night Football”, however, was something no fans or players have ever seen: a player literally fighting for his life on the football field.
After the Buffalo Bills player was given CPR on the field and rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, the game was postponed – and the football community rallied behind the young player. While injuries are a part of the sport, even horrific injuries, having to have your heart restarted on the field was a unique occurance – and one that Brady said gives “perspective.”
“We’re praying for Damar and his family this morning in Tampa. Moments like this put into perspective what it means to play this game we love,” he began in a tweet posted yesterday. “Thankful for our communities in Cincinnati and Buffalo for the overwhelming level of care and support I know they’ll continue to provide.”
