Gov Whitmer appoints local judge to fill a vacant seat in Clare/Gladwin Counties!

Gov Whitmer has appointed a longtime local attorney to a vacant judgeship in Clare & Gladwin Counties. Tara Hovey, will fill the vacancy left by the death of Chief Judge Thomas Evans on May 2^nd. She will be sworn into the 55^th Circuit on Oct 11^th & will remain on the bench the rest of the term until Jan 1, 2025. She will also be required to run for election to the position in 20-24!
