Season 10 of “The Goldbergs” premiers on ABC Sept. 21st, and will have a somewhat different look. One of the biggest changes will be the departure of Jeff Garlin‘s character -and we now know how the show is going to handle it.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunners Alex Barnow and Chris Bishop detailed how the show will be moving forward. As written, the series returns with several months having passed since the death of Garlin’s character. Barnow said, “The family has already grieved…and so far the stories have been largely about looking forward rather than looking back.” Added Bishop: ” It honestly feels like a huge reboot for us.”
Garlin exit’s the show after nine seasons over allegations of inapporproaate on-set behavior. While he maintains he was being silly and had no intention of making anyone uncomfortable, the comedian and Sony Pictures Television came to a mutual agreement that he would no longer be part of the show.
