Levels of a bacteria associated with a water-born illness are rising in the Chip River. People are advised at this time to avoid contact with the river where the main channel meets the northern branch. Both the daily water sample & 30 day average exceeded safe levels of E-Coli, set by the Mich Department of Environmental Quality!
