Matthew McConaughey just released his new book “Greenlights,” and sat down for a chat on Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast. But it wasn’t the book that stuck out about the interview, it was the fact that McConaughey said that he wanted to play the Hulk on the big screen but Marvel wasn’t interested.

He explained in a discussion about the Incredible Hulk TV show that he was a huge fan growing up and would have liked to play David Banner at some point in time. However, when Marvel was still looking for someone to play the role, he claims he put himself forward for the role but Marvel turned down his offer. The role eventually went to Mark Ruffalo.

ONE MORE THING!: According to Jennifer Garner, Matthew McConaughey helped her thrive as a working mom on the “Dallas Buyers Club” set in 2013. Jennifer appeared on the “Kelly Corrigan Show” and said that there was just never any time for her to pump her breast milk for her son Samuel and was getting really frustrated on set. She says that Matthew would come over and make sure that she would have time to do what she needed to do. Jennifer said he told her, ‘You can do both. You’ve got it. You can do it.’ How much do I love that guy? I know, a lot.”
