“Dilbert” creator Scott Adams claims his short-lived television show on UPN was canceled because he’s white. He says it’s not the first time he’s lost a job because he’s white, either… but the Twitterverse isn’t exactly buying it.
Adams dropped the claim in response to tweets about Lena Dunham selling her show “Girls” to HBO with nothing but a “page-and-a-half-long pitch without a character not a plot” when she was 23 years old. As fans question how white privilege played a role in her scoring the deal, Adams appears to be saying being white isn’t all it takes.
“I lost my TV show for being white when UPN decided it would focus on an African-American audience. That was the third job I lost for being white. The other two in corporate America. (They told me directly.).”
