The world may have stopped, but the case against Lori Loughlin goes on. As you might recall, she recently claimed that her case should be tossed because prosecutors lied and set her up. The prosecutors have officially responded.

In short – they say they’re clean. “Criminal defendants are entitled to a vigorous defense,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Frank writes in court documents. “But making baseless claims that evidence was fabricated to frame innocent parties goes too far.”

At issue? Lawyers for Loughlin and her husband, Massimo Giannulli, charge that investigators bullied their informant (aka ringleader Rick Singer) and then concealed evidence that would prove their innocence. The couple is expected to go on trial in October.

To review, Loughlin and Giannulli couple are accused of paying $500-thousand to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California as crew recruits even though neither girl ever rowed. They’re saying the money they paid were legitimate donations, but have yet to explain the faked resumes.
