Matthew McConaughey has added “professor” to his resume. He has joined the faculty of the University of Texas at Austin as a “Professor of Practice” – a role he’s been auditioning for since 2015.

The Oscar winner has been co-teaching the Script to Screen film production class for five years. This fall, he’ll give a unique, behind-the-scenes view of “The Gentlemen” – which comes out next year – and Jeff Nichols’ 2012 film, “Mud.”

“It’s the class I wish I would have had when I was in film school,” the 1993 graduate said in a statement. “Working in the classroom with these students gives me a chance to prepare them.”
