Sure, Louis CK has gotten himself into trouble publicly for gross and creepy behavior with a number of women. But thanks to a lawsuit completely unrelated to him, it’s been revealed that a consensual one-night stand with restaurateur Sarma Melngailis may leave him with a very public hangover.
It’s not like she outed him – apparently, Melngailis had relations with a few people, including her attorney, Jeffrey Lichtman. A lawsuit surrounding her affair with her married attorney – who also represents infamous drug lord El Chapo, BTW – is how the information was revealed. In a flurry of emails and texts, CK and Melngailis were apparently at odds about who gave what to whom.
In the exchange, obtained by the New York Post, CK responds to an “upset and freaked out” Melngailis about potentially having given her an STD. “I understand you’re upset. I never swore that I was clean. If you gave it to me, it’s okay,” he reportedly wrote. “I should have worn a condom, you should have made me, we should have a lot of things, we are human.” For what it’s worth…he was single at the time. Neither Melngailis nor CK commented on the report at press time.
- ONE MORE THING! Meanwhile…Janeane Garofalo thinks that CK deserves some slack from the backlash he’s been getting ever since admitting to sexual misconduct. During a recent podcast appearance, the actress and comedian showed support for CK’s comeback to stand-up and told critics to “leave Louis CK alone.” “He’s my friend, he’s been my friend since 1985, and I think he has suffered,” she said. “If you can find no compassion for him, think about how his daughters feel. Why don’t you leave him alone for them if you’re so women-empowering?”
