Is Ellen DeGeneres ready to hang up her talk show? Even though she signed a contract to stay on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” through 2020, she’s still considering ending it.
And it doesn’t help that Portia de Rossi would like to see her wife leave daytime. It’s not that she has anything against the show. “I just think she’s such a brilliant actress and standup that it doesn’t have to be this talk show for her creativity,” Portia says. “There are other things she could tackle.”
On the other hand, Ellen’s brother wants her to keep going. The way Vance DeGeneres sees it, her positive, unifying voice is needed on television in the age of Donald Trump more than ever.
- For now, Ellen is concentrating on her first comedy special in 15 years, “Relatable,” which will be available on Netflix on December 18th.
