A team of community leaders continue to work to create a Mental Health Court, here in Isabella County. Yesterday, Community Mental Health, Prosecutors & Law Enforcement, came together to discuss the next steps for this court. They say people get locked up, sit in jail for way too long, then released, out for several months, then b/c of their mental health issues that need treatment, they end up committing similar type offenses & are put on lock-down, yet again. They’re now waiting for a judge to be selected in November, for the program to move forward.
