A Clare County woman accused of stealing more than $20,000 from her employer at the Clare Moose Lodge, over a 12-year time frame is facing an embezzlement charge after a several month investigation. Melissa Washburn, 46, of Farwell, was charged in Clare County Court this week. A banking institution assisted police with the case as evidence like bank statements and audits were obtained. Washburn was arraigned July 13, posted 10 percent of a $20,000 bond & released from the Clare County Jail.
