Yesterday we told you that that fans of Johnny Depp were concerned after a photo of him surfaced online looking frail and possibly sick. No word on Depp’s health, but we do know he is preparing for a court battle.
Depp is suing a British tabloid for calling him a “wife-beater” and criticizing J.K. Rowling for standing by him. The suit was filed against the “The Sun” through its publishing company, News Group Newspapers Limited. Columnist Dan Wootton, who wrote the story, is also named in the suit. In addition to money for damages and legal fees, Depp wants to stop the paper from “continuing to publish” allegations of spousal abuse.
Of course, the allegations stem first arose during his divorce from ex-wife Amber Heard. He denied everything, but she still walked away with a $7-million settlement…which she got for dropping the claims. But she didn’t keep it – instead, she donated the money to charity.
