Mt. Pleasant city commissioners are considering a lottery system, if necessary, to determine which applicants receive medical-marijuana business licenses. Commissioners also reached a consensus on buffer zones, deciding on 1,000-foot buffer zones for properties in regards to K-12 schools and a 500-foot buffer zone in regards to Central Michigan University. They preferred to not have any buffer zones for parks, day cares and churches. Their next work is coming up on March 12th.
