John Legend is getting ready to tackle quite an important role. The singer is set to star as Jesus in NBC’s upcoming musical, “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert!”
“I’m thrilled to join the cast of this production of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert!'” Legend says. “It’s such a powerful, meaningful musical and I’m humbled to be part of this performance.”
NBC plans to air their take on the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical on Easter Sunday, April 1st. Rocker Alice Cooper has already been cast to play King Herod.
