Jarrod Saltalamacchia came up big for the Detroit Tigers in the 8th inning, crushing a two-run home run to lift the Tigers to a 4-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox Monday night at Comerica Park. With the win, the Tigers pulled to within one game of the Baltimore Orioles in the American League wild card chase. Matt Boyd gave up two runs in four innings for the Tigers, and was saddled with a no-decision.
