August is a great time to make a Michigan day trip. It is the best time to travel in Michigan, (except for traffic going north) as it is the warmest time of year in our state. Also, our great lakes are warm enough to swim in. It seems there is something to do around every corner, with countless county fairs and random festivals that make great Michigan day trips. Thinking this, I thought I would let you know about a few of my favorite things to do in August in Michigan. If you have any festivals or events you would like us to know about leave a comment. This next week make sure to go to the Chesseburger Festival in Caseville!
Starting on August 12th and running through August 21st Caseville is overrun by the Cheeseburger Festival…does anything sound better than a Cheeseburger Festival? I didn’t think so! Caseville is quite the drive, but a beautiful one as you travel up the coast of Lake Huron and Saginaw Bay. They have some really great events including, golfing under the stars and a kiddie parade. Any day is a great day to go, but below are a few more highlights!
Of course there is a cheeseburger eating contest Wednesday at 2p.m., but that is not all.. There are many activities everyday including live music, a water balloon toss contest, hula hoop contest, a pancake breakfast, the best cheeseburger contest and don’t forget the Cheeseburger fun run! Check out the Caseville Chamber of Commerce website to find a full schedule of events.
So don’t be afraid to make a Michigan Day Trip this next week to the wonderful town of Caseville and experience for yourself the Cheeseburger Festival!
