Just days before the MLB trade deadline, the Detroit Tigers promoted pitching prospect Joe Jimenez to Triple-A Toledo. The 21-year-old reliever has posted a 1.22 ERA this season between Class-A Lakeland and Double-A Erie. Batters are hitting .138 against Jimenez. Many close to the Tigers organization believe he’s the team’s closer of the future, if he isn’t traded before the August 1st trade deadline.
