The Detroit Red Wings and Petr Mrazek avoided arbitration Wednesday, agreeing to a two-year, $8 million contract. The signing puts the Red Wings about $4.2 million over the NHL salary cap for the next season, but the team will receive salary relief when placing Johan Franzen, Joe Vitale and Teemu Pulkkinen on injured reserve.
