Evan Rachel Wood has been a vocal advocate for victims of abuse, and now she’s naming names when it comes to her own survival story. The actress has named Marilyn Manson as her abuser, alleging she was “horrifically abused” for years by the “dangerous” rocker when they were in a relationship.

In statements to “Vanity Fair” and her own Instagram, Wood accuses Manson – real name Brian Warner – of grooming her and abusing her. When they met, she was 19 and Manson was 38, and they ended up getting engaged in 2010 before splitting that same year. Throughout their relationship, Wood says he “brainwashed” and “manipulated” her “into submission”… but now, she’s “done living in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail.”

As we previously reported, Wood testified before Congress about the alleged abuse without naming names back in 2018… but fans connected the dots, and Manson angrily shut down an interview just this Fall after being asked about the allegations, which he called “rumors.” Now, he’s responded to the official claims against him on Instagram, calling them “horrible distortions” of what he considered “entirely consensual“ relationships

  • But Wood is far from alone. At least four other women have come forward with their own allegations of abuse against Manson, including claims of sexual assault, psychological abuse, and other forms of violence and intimidation. Manson’s own former personal assistant Dan Cleary has also spoken out to support Manson’s alleged victims, saying he witnessed Manson’s abusive and violent behavior towards multiple partners first hand, including Wood, but didn’t speak out at the time because of “the code.”
  • Rose McGowan, who was engaged to Manson for two years before they split in 2001 over “lifestyle differences,” has also shown support for his accusers. While she admits she didn’t experience the same abuse, she calls Wood and her fellow accusers’ “courage” to speak out “inspiring,” saying she’s as “proud” of those speaking out as she is “disgusted” by Manson’s alleged abuse.
  • Manson is starting to see fallout from the scandal already. He’s been dropped by his record label Loma Vista, who have released a statement about the “disturbing allegations” announcing that they’re severing all ties with the rocker. His episode of the Shudder series “Creepshow” has also been trashed.
  • It looks like the accused rocker might also get a visit from the FBI. Wood has shared a letter sent by California state Senator Susan Rubio on January 21st, urging Attorney General Monty Wilkinson and FBI director Christopher Wray to launch an investigation into the allegations against Manson. Senator Rubio reveals she’s a “domestic violence survivor” herself, dedicated to advocating for often-silenced victims in California as a state legislator.
