Rick Moranis got sucker-punched on the streets of New York City over the weekend. The “Honey I Shrunk The Kids” and “Ghostbusters” star was walking home on Central Park West on Friday morning when he was the victim of an unprovoked attack.
The NYPD has released video of the incident, showing an unidentified male wearing an “I Love New York” sweatshirt punching Moranis and knocking him to the ground before fleeing the scene. Moranis reportedly “fine” now, suffering pain to the head, back and right hip after the attack, and heading straight to the hospital – and the cops.
Cops tell the “New York Post” that Moranis is on the mend and grateful for his fans’ support – like Chris Evans, who has taken to Twitter pushing for the search for the attacker. “My blood is boiling,” he writes. “You don’t touch Rick Moranis.” Check out the video – and Evan’s tweet – below.
