Driving while talking on a hand-held mobile phone is now against the law in Beaverton after a unanimous approval by the city council. Beaverton City Attorney Tara Hovey said police chief Brad Davis encouraged the ordinance amendment, citing that he had a few “close calls” with people driving with a cell phone in hand.
