MY-1043 Polar Plunge 2020 results!

THANK YOU for doing your part with this years Polar Plunge with Special Olympics of Michigan!

It was a record year for donations & jumpers, here in Mid-Michigan…at Wayside/O’Kellys parking lot on Sat Feb 15th.

Event Details
The record-setting fundraising efforts of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge series benefiting Special Olympics Michigan continued today all across the state with five plunges. In Mt. Pleasant, 300 participants braved the 20-degree weather, which made the 35-degree water temps seem warm by comparison. All told, the Mt. Pleasant Plunge raised $60,000 with the other locations in Saginaw, Alpena, Lake City and Munising bringing in an additional $73,500 to push this season’s Polar Plunge total to nearly $810,000. That number is outpacing all previous Polar Plunge seasons and is set to smash the previous record of $1.2 million in a single plunge season with 12 Polar Plunges remaining on the schedule.

Congrats to My-1043’s Tina Sawyer, for losing the voting to jump poll, and braving the 35 degree water on a 20 degree windy day here in Mid-Michigan!  Videos below:
