It’s great to be recognized for hard work. No one believes that more than My 1043. We teamed up with the Gratiot/Isabella Technical Education Center to bring you our student of the month for the 2016/17 school year.
Each month, GI-TEC teachers and My 1043 staff pick one deserving student. That student earns a plaque from JNR Engraving, a prize pack from My 1043, and kudos for a job well done.
Congrats to our student of the month this month, Gabriel Simon! This is what Gabriel’s teacher Paul Driggers had to say about our student of the month:
Gabriel is a 4th year Machine Trades student with many accomplishments to his credit – both personally and academically. He was chosen 4th in the state for CNC milling at the 2016 Skills USA competition; attended the Chicago International Machine Trades Show in 2014 and 2016 as a Student Summit Participant; he has volunteered for the Community Compassion Network Food Pantry; has been on the track team for 4 years; is an active Sacred Heart parishioner; likes to hunt, fish, and program computers
In addition to all those activities, Gabriel is currently employed at Milking Systems of Remus doing robotic programming.
Due to his machining skills, character, grades, and work ethic he was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society on February 9 AND has been accepted into the Engineering program at Ferris State University.
