No girls allowed? Not anymore!

A historic change for the Boy Scouts of America. The organization now plans to allow girls to join.

Beginning next year, Boy Scouts will begin admitting girls into the Cub Scouts.

Under the plan, Cub Scout dens, the smallest unit within the scout organization, will consist of only boys or only girls.

The larger Cub Scout packs will then have the option to welcome both genders.

A new program for older girls will also be established, allowing them to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
