A Q&A session during a Secure Michigan presentation in Alma on Wednesday ended abruptly after a presenter told a questioner to “shut up.” The Southern Poverty Law Center identifies Secure Michigan as an anti-Muslim hate group. Alma resident Fellipe Johnson asked communications director Dick Manasseri whether Islam, like other religions, is open to interpretation, and was told to shut up. Manasseri said afterward that he apologized for losing his temper, but didn’t apologize to Johnson personally.
