An Osceola County woman is in jail after allegedly injuring her son in a car accident, leaving the child with his stepmom, and not reporting the incident in Clare County. 31-year-old Elaine Garlitz of Sears was charged on Wednesday with counts of failing to stop at the scene of a crash resulting in injury, operating a vehicle without insurance, and failing to report a crash involving injury. The boy was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
