A teacher from Ithaca Public Schools won the Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education award. Sue Meier teaches kindergarten at South Elementary School in Ithaca. She was recognized for instilling a love of learning in her students and working with them on several community service projects. Winners of the weekly award receive a $500 cash prize and a $500 grant for their classroom.
