State Representative Roger Hauck proposed a resolution on Wednesday to declare March 1st as “Spread the Word to End the Word Day.” The campaign, organized by Special Olympics Michigan, asks people to vow to stop using the R-word because of the emotional pain it causes children and adults with disabilities.
