Today is a special day, we have a famous birthday. Queen guitarist Brian May turns 69 years old today. First off Dr. May let me say happy birthday sir. Throughout your 69 years you have made some amazing things. From the music you’ve created to the guitar you used to make that music and that PhD in astro-physics, you have done and achieved a lot.

For me your greatest achievement is the formation of Queen and all of the amazing music you guys created together. Songs like We Will Rock You, Fat Bottomed Girls and I Want It All are anthems to this day that most anyone will know, especially big fans of Queen such as me.

From 1970 until Freddie Mercury’s death in 1991 you released 14 classic albums with Queen. Those albums influenced so many artists to create music. Bands like Judas Priest, Van Halen, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and more. Not only do we have your music but we have these artists and the others you’ve influenced as well.

Outside of Queen you’ve released solo albums, toured with different artists like Kerry Ellis, and have added lead vocalists to Queen like Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert. You also got your PhD in Astrophysics! Who would have thought that a guitarist in a rock band would be smart enough to do that? I can think of only one and that would be Dr. Brian May.

So, Dr. May I know you most likely won’t see this but if you do, thank you for all of the amazing music you and the boys of Queen created. The songs, the albums, they will always be a testament to the hard work and excellence that is Queen and that is Dr. Brian May. Happy Birthday Dr. May, enjoy your day, and once again thank you.
