So, went to see The Revenant today. Here is my unsolicited review–lol–read further at your own risk:

Although the cinematography was breath-taking and the initial scenes were exciting and important, I’m still not sure what to think of it. Tom Hardy and Leo are always good but, the story just felt too drawn out and kept building and building but then flatlined. I feel some scenes could’ve been cut for time because this film’s length was unnecessary. It’s only redemption was a “Luke in a tauntaun” scene and Hardy’s delightful drawl and general nastiness. He plays a great ‘baddie’. But, if you have the time and are rooting for Leo to finally win his Oscar, by all means, give it a watch. In my opinion, Tom Hardy’s performance, the bear and views of the wilderness stole the show.

3 out of 5 stars.
